Support Groups

Support Groups

Weekly online support groups where you can talk, listen, or simply take a break and be among people who understand. Groups are open and ongoing: join any week and come as often as you can, in English or Spanish.

Raising a child with a disability, caring for an aging parent, or getting through the teen years can feel lonely, even when you're surrounded by people. A support group is a place where you don't have to explain yourself. Share when you want to, listen when you need to, and leave with one practical tool for the week, guided by an experienced behavioral health clinician.

What Is It?

Amare ICS offers three support groups for people facing a similar challenge. “Parents Raising Children with Disabilities”, opening November 2026, supports parents, grandparents and guardians of a child of any age with a developmental, intellectual, physical or medical disability, covering stress and burnout, navigating services and schools, advocacy, family relationships and self-care. “Caring for Aging Loved Ones” supports family members caring for an aging parent, spouse or relative, including loved ones living with Alzheimer's or dementia, with topics such as communication, caregiver stress and guilt, grief, and finding help. “Teen Connect” helps teens ages 12–17 who feel stressed, anxious, down or alone build coping skills for emotions, school, friendships, bullying and family life, in separate groups for ages 12–14 and 15–17. The caregiver and teen groups are coming soon; join the interest list to be the first to know.

How It Works

Joining starts with one free intake call, so you know what to expect. From there, you can join any week and come as often as you can, with each session offering support, a topic and one practical skill to take home.

  1. One free intake call – A 30-minute call to get to know you and make sure the group is the right fit.
  2. Join any week – Every session stands on its own, with a new topic each week, so you never fall behind.
  3. Come as often as you can – Talk, listen, or just be there. You can step away anytime and come back when life allows.

Approaches We Use

Groups are grounded in the same proven methods used in individual therapy, adapted for a group setting. Each session draws on DBT skills for managing strong emotions and getting through hard days, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) tools for changing unhelpful thinking. Psychoeducation offers clear information about what you're facing and what helps, and peer support brings the strength of learning from others who understand, guided by a clinician. Group agreement: every member agrees to keep what's shared in the group private, to join by video from a private location in Arizona, and to treat others with respect.

5 Steps to Get Started

Getting started takes five simple steps. First, call (928) 940-2120 or send a message to join a group or its interest list. Second, you'll have a free 30-minute intake call to answer your questions and make sure the group is a good fit. Third, you'll complete your intake forms and the group agreement through a secure client portal, in English or Spanish; for Teen Connect, a parent or guardian signs consent first. Fourth, you'll receive the group's day, time and secure video link. Finally, you can join your first session whenever you're ready and come as often as you can from then on.

Fees & Payments

Amare ICS is a private-pay practice, so we don't bill insurance directly and are considered an out-of-network provider. This gives you more privacy, no session limits set by insurance companies, and care tailored entirely to your needs. We also believe cost should never stand between you and the care you need. Through our Income-Based Program, a limited number of clients receive reduced fees based on household income and size. Just ask during your free consultation, then complete a short income form in your client portal. No pay stubs or tax returns are required. You'll hear back within one business day, and eligibility is reviewed every 90 days.

There is no charge for missed sessions. No one is turned away because they can't pay: if cost is a barrier, just let us know privately and pay what you can. You'll receive a written Good Faith Estimate before your first session.
